Traditionally, a trombone bell is hammered into shape by hand. In its pursuit of the finest sound possible, S.E. Shires relies on its team of highly skilled artisans to transform a sheet of brass into a singing trombone bell. The STBQ39YR comes equipped with a bell made of balanced-sounding yellow brass for robust projection and focused articulation. This 2-piece bell design features a proprietary S.E. Shires taper for a fat, girthy tone. The STBQ39YR’s bell has a soldered bead for extra projection and focused articulation.
The STBQ39YR will feel immediately familiar to bass trombone players, as it’s fitted with a valve layout that closely parallels the standard bass trombone valve configuration. Featuring the American tuning system, your scale patterns will transfer directly from your bass trombone, for a seamless transition, while facilitating a natural balance between valve and extended-position slide technique. The STBQ39YR provides the powerful sonic authority to excel in orchestral, small ensemble, and solo settings while maintaining the precision, refinement, and responsiveness for which S.E. Shires instruments are famous.
The S.E. Shires slogan, “Quality without compromise,” says it all: the company has a heartfelt conviction and fundamental drive to design and build top-level instruments. S.E. Shires commits to the highest standards of manufacturing and time-honored craftsmanship to bring you horns with a distinctive, resonant voice that’s appreciated by players across the globe.
